Mission Statement
We are a foster based 501c3 animal rescue in a small SC community.
Our goal, as an organization, is to help abandoned, neglected and unwanted animals have an opportunity at a better life. We provide services to our community in the form of owner retention, affordable vet care, food assistance, owner education and senior services. These services are in an effort to keep pets happy and in a healthy environment with the humans.
More About Us
Tere are so many dogs who need help! It has been an extremely busy year. Things are just so bad in the rescue world. And we all do the best we can. Heart breaking… Yes… but the wins are what keep everyone going. We run into so many horrible situations. Human being are sometimes the worst creatures walking the earth. We have seen dogs burned with hot grease to the point of having scars for life. The grease burned down to the bones. We have found older dogs with so many fleas and so dehydrated they are having trouble standing up. We found a completely blind dog on the side of a busy highway. The stories go and on. But have been able to provide vet care and safe homes for these dogs and so many more.
What will we do with the money raised?
We have a community outreach program for people who find themselves facing financial hardships, especially the elderly population. Often their pets are their reason for living. Vaccinations, spay neuter surgeries, and dog and cat food are just some of the services provided. We know that we have to work to fix as many problems as we can before the animals end up at animal control agencies. We generally have around 30 dogs in foster. Often many of the dogs we have in foster are older and hard to place. We provide the care that they need for as long as it is needed.
Stories of Impact or Testimonials
Many of our senior citizens who are on fixed incomes find themselves having to decide on buying food for them or food for their pets. Deciding if they should go to the doctor of if the pet goes to the vet. Our mission is to ease that burden in whatever capacity we can.
Here is one example
Mr. Joe lost his wife of 56 years a few months prior to our encounter. Mr. Joe is elderly and on a limited fixed income. He lost his wife and then he was all alone except for his pup Fifi. Fifi developed a tumor on her head, which had been there a while according to Mr. Joe, but it started growing quickly. The tumor was now affecting poor Fifi vision, her ability to eat but most of all her quality of life was affected. The vet bill estimate for tumor removal was $1800. 00 or approximately $200 to have Fifi euthanized. This sweet man was devastated. He had just lost his wife, and he could not bear to lose his loving little companion. It would be another devastating blow. Mr. Joe was given our contact information and was hoping he could get some assistance with his precious little dog. Of course, our organization took care of the surgery cost as well as flea and heart worm meds, a new bed and the quality of life restored for Fifi and the light and love back in the heart of Mr Joe. We know that our pets are a healing force. We are so happy that we could help.
